How Customers Earn & Spend Points

Updated this week

TrustWILL Loyalty is designed to be simple and intuitive, making it easy for customers to earn points and redeem rewards while shopping.

How Customers Earn Points

Customers can earn points through various actions available in the “Ways to Earn” section of the rewards panel.

Common earning actions include:

  • Place an order – Earn points for every purchase

  • Sign up – Get points for creating an account

  • Write a product review

  • Subscribe to a newsletter

  • Engage on social media (e.g., follow on Instagram, like on Facebook)

  • Celebrate a birthday

How it works:

  • Simply click on the desired action in the rewards panel and follow the instructions

  • Points for actions like sign-up, orders, and reviews are automatically credited once completed

  • Make sure you are logged in using the same email as your store account to receive points

Note: Available earning actions may vary depending on the store.

How Customers Spend Points

Customers can turn their points into rewards in the “Ways to Redeem” section.

How to redeem:

  1. Open the rewards panel and log in

  2. Browse available rewards

  3. Select a reward once you have enough points

  4. Click “Redeem” to generate a discount code

  5. Click “Check out now” button or copy the code for checkout

How Loyalty Coupons Are Applied

Once a customer redeems a reward from the rewards panel:

  • A discount code is automatically generated

  • The discount value is reflected in the cart or checkout page

  • The coupon can be:

    • Auto-applied at checkout, or

    • Manually entered by the customer if needed

This ensures customers can easily see their savings before completing the purchase.

How Customers Check Their Points and Coupons

Customers can easily view their loyalty points and available coupons after logging into their store account. Making this information visible across multiple touchpoints helps increase engagement and reward redemption.

Where Customers Can View Their Points

Once logged in, customers can check their points balance in the following areas:

  • Widget Panel
A floating or embedded panel that allows quick access to points, rewards, and actions.

  • Loyalty Page Banner
Displays the current points balance prominently at the top of the loyalty program page.

  • Loyalty Hub
A centralized space where customers can explore rewards, redeem points, and track activity.

  • Loyalty Status Section
Shows membership tier, progress, and points balance (if tiers are enabled).

  • Checkout Page (with Checkout Extension enabled)
Customers can view and apply their points or rewards directly during checkout for a seamless experience.

Additional Touchpoints to Remind Customers

To keep customers engaged and aware of their rewards, you can also highlight their points through:

  • Cart Engagement Popups
Remind customers of available points or rewards while they are preparing to purchase.

  • Email Notifications
Send automated emails for key events such as:

    • Points earned

    • Rewards unlocked

    • Points expiration reminders

Best Practice:
Displaying points in multiple locations increases visibility and encourages customers to redeem rewards sooner, improving overall participation in your loyalty program.
