How to Enable Birthday Points
1. Go to Program > Points
2. Click Add ways to earn points under the Earn points section
Note: If you’re not currently on our paid plan, you can still unlock the service for free. Simply click Unlock next to Celebrate a birthday, then send the pre-written message to our live chat.
3. Continue to set it up and fill in the required fields on the page
5. Click Save to activate the reward
Tip: To ensure customers receive their birthday rewards, they must enter their birthdate in advance, especially if you've enabled safety restrictions. If the birthdate does not meet the validity period or the advance entry requirement, the reward will not be issued.
How Customers Claim Their Birthday Reward
Once the Birthday Reward feature is enabled, customers will be able to enter and redeem their birthday reward directly from your store.
Step 1: Customers can enter their birthday under “Ways to Earn” in the widget panel or loyalty page after logging into their account.
Step 2: Customers can claim their birthday reward by logging into their account, opening the loyalty widget, and clicking “Redeem” when the reward appears.
Notes:
The reward must be claimed manually through the widget
Customers must be logged in to view and redeem it
The reward will only appear when the customer is eligible
Tip: Remind customers to add their birthday early and log in to redeem their reward on time.
Notifying Customers with a Birthday Email
Let your customers know you’re thinking of them by sending a Happy Birthday email with their reward!
To enable and customize the email:
1. Go to Program > Emails in your dashboard
2. Toggle the Birthday reward switch to ON
3. Click Edit to customize the subject line and message
4. Enter your custom text in the appropriate fields
5. Use the live preview on the right to see changes in real time
6. Click Save once you're happy with the content
Common Questions
1. Can a customer earn points every month if they edit their birthday?
No. To prevent misuse, customers can only edit their birthday once. Additionally, birthday rewards can only be claimed once per year.
2. How can I change a customer's birthday?
Customers cannot change their birthday once it has been submitted. However, you can manually update it by navigating to the Customers section in your admin dashboard, opening the customer's profile, and entering the new birthdate.
