Introduction
Cart page pop-ups are a powerful way to boost engagement and increase loyalty-driven sales at the moment customers are about to check out.
With these pop-ups, you can remind members to redeem rewards or spend their points directly on the cart page, encouraging more interaction with your loyalty program and improving conversion rates.
This guide explains how Points Engagement and Reward Engagement pop-ups work and how to enable them in your store.
Types of Cart Engagement Pop-ups
Points Engagement Pop-up
The Points Engagement pop-up encourages members to spend their available points.
It appears when a customer:
Is signed in to their account
Is viewing the cart page
Has points available to spend
This reminder helps increase points redemption and loyalty program engagement.
Reward Engagement Pop-up
The Reward Engagement pop-up encourages members to redeem rewards they already have available.
It appears when a customer:
Is signed in to their account
Is on the cart page
Has at least one reward available to redeem
This helps customers easily apply their rewards before completing checkout.
Attention:
These pop-ups only work on a dedicated cart page. If your store uses a side cart (drawer cart), the pop-ups will not appear.
Our pop-ups only display on cart pages with a URL like: yourstore.myshopify.com/cart
Pop-up Display Rules
Points Engagement and Reward Engagement pop-ups follow the same display conditions, so they cannot appear at the same time.
Only one pop-up will be shown, depending on the customer's account status.
Customer Status | Pop-up Displayed |
Customer has at least one valid reward coupon | Reward Engagement pop-up |
Customer has enough points to redeem a reward, but no coupons yet | Points Engagement pop-up |
Customer has both a reward coupon and enough points to redeem another reward | Reward Engagement pop-up |
Note:
To keep the experience simple and avoid overwhelming customers, only one pop-up will appear at a time.
Priority order: Reward Engagement β Points Engagement.
